A change of scene

I had a restful but productive holiday in Sussex recently where I completed a commission, sorted a logo, and ordered some sample gift boxes from Tiny Box Company. I’ve also just got a delivery of some lovely metallic copper stickers from Stickythings, so I’m now working on a colour scheme to tie it all together.

When I got back home I had my first Go Digital consultation with a really helpful and friendly business advisor. Go Digital is a Norfolk County Council scheme to give small and medium businesses digital business support. A lot of my business takes place online so it’s great to be receiving some expert advice, especially as I look to transform my artwork to digital copies in order to print them. There is so much to learn now about scanners, printers, computers, photoshop, colour spaces, and so on. I also need to get my head around e-commerce in order to create a new website where I can sell cards and prints of my artwork online.

The heart of my business though, and my passion, continues to be creating lovely hand drawn pets and animals through the very real and physical process of applying pastels, pencils and paint to paper. I’m enjoying drawing a cat at the moment with really beautifully patterned fur, building up the layers one stroke at a time.

Hopefully as my business grows, I can continue combining the best of both worlds – the physical and the digital. Thank you so much for supporting me in my journey, whether it’s by commissioning a hand drawn artwork, ordering a print (when they are available) or simply by following along with me here in my blog, I really appreciate it!
