Hot off the press—My new Epson P900 printer has arrived!

As my new art business grows and develops, each day brings something new and exciting, and today my new printer arrived!

I really wanted to be able to offer high quality prints of my work using fine art paper and archival pigment inks. A normal office inkjet just wasn’t going to be up to it so I’ve invested in an Epson P900. Thank you Keith Cooper for your helpful printer reviews.

I was expecting Jessops to deliver good service, but was still amazed at how quickly it came. I hadn’t even got all the paper ordered and delivered!

A massive thankyou to the Norfolk County Council Go Digital programme and support from Broadland District Council that enabled me to take this first step into the world of fine art prints.

Not only did I get some excellent help and advice from Kate Wilde from Engage with Business but I received a grant to help implement some of my digital transformation plan - top of the list being purchasing a professional quality printer. Kate also encouraged me to improve my website, and SEO (search engine optimisation) which I have started doing using Squarespace. I hope you like the new look and extra content, and that google points you too it!  A big thank you to Jim Drew from BusinessEquip too, for recommending the GoDigital scheme in the first place. It’s been a great experience and helped my business at such a key time.

The printer is now unpacked and set up (thanks again to a short video from Keith). I’ve just clicked print from Photoshop and here is me with my very first print! It’s just printed on ordinary white printer paper rather than the lovely textured fine art paper that I’ll use in the future, plus I need to experiment with various colour settings, but it’s a good start so I thought I’d frame it!

The next step is getting a scanner, and a more powerful computer. My little IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is really struggling these days. I’m also going to need to get used to editing my artwork in Adobe’s Lightroom and Photoshop.

Can’t wait to add my first products to my online shop. So many new and exciting things for the days ahead. But right now, back to the heart and soul of the business which is drawing beautiful animal art. Here’s one I have just completed:
